FIRE crews will be on hand throughout the summer holidays to give safety advice to the public.
Members of Kent Fire and Rescue will also be on Dartford Heath, Heath Lane, to talk to youngsters about the dangers of deliberately starting fires.
KFRS spokesman Stuart Albon, said: “Our aim is to reduce the number of deliberately started fires, which are a blight on the community and present a risk to public safety.
“During the school holidays we often see a rise in grass and heath fires, which can be extremely dangerous. If there is a strong wind the fire can spread faster than a person can run.”
Crews will be on the heath on July 30 between 11am and 4pm, then August 1, 8, 15 and 22 between 10am and 3pm.
