NURSES will be touring north Kent next week to raise awareness of hepatitis.
They will be travelling with a mobile clinic to educate people about the infection on July 28 and will be in New Road, Gravesend, from 10am until 12.30pm.
Visitors will be able to find out how to reduce the risk of getting hepatitis as well as seeing how clean their hands are using ultra violet light.
Hepatitis is an infection of the liver that can be life-threatening.
Types B and C are spread by infected blood or body fluids, while Type A is spread through poor hygiene.
Infection control nurse Val Harmon said: “So many people are unaware of the risks of hepatitis and ways to prevent it, which is why we're keen to raise awareness.”
In addition to the mobile clinic, a van displaying awareness-raising messages will be driving through Dartford and Gravesham to promote World Hepatitis Day.
