LEWISHAM’S annual festival returns this weekend promising more than 1,000 performers across eight stages.
People’s Day - the borough’s biggest and longest running festival - kicks off at noon in Mountsfield Park, Catford, on July 9 and runs until 8pm.
There will be music, dancing, sports activities, cabaret and spoken word. Highlights include a stage hosted by Blackheath Halls filled with musicians and a roller disco in the park’s tennis courts.
And alongside the entertainment there will be a variety of community groups, businesses and public services proving information on their work.
An after party will be held at the Ladywell Tavern in Ladywell Road.
