THESE newly released pictures of Deptford’s streets are helping to tell the story of the area’s history.

The images, donated by residents, will be featured in a series to be screened on BBC2 next year to coincide with the 2012 Olympics.

People who have lived in the area over the years will feaure in Our Secret Streets which tells the story of London over the last 120 years.

She said: “We had a fantastic response so far but we’d love to hear from anyone who has personal old photographs and films showing the High Street and surrounding residential area over the last century.

“These might be from weddings, family gatherings or any occasion where you were pictured on one of these streets.

“The pictures and film might have been taken outside, on the street, in the back garden or inside people’s homes, the shops and pubs.”
