POLICE are appealing for information after a man indecently exposed himself to three schoolgirls on a train.

British Transport Police (BTP) have released CCTV images of a man they wish to speak to in connection with the incident which happened on board the 4.03pm train from Orpington to Cannon Street, on April 5.

Detective Constable Andy Parkinson, of BTP’s public protection unit, said: “The 12-year-old girls, who were travelling home from school, were sitting in a group talking amongst themselves."

As the train travelled between Chislehurst and Hither Green, a man walked through the carriage and sat down opposite one of them.

DC Parkinson added: “He then began to stare intently at one of the girls, which was noticed by her friend. After moving seats, the girl realised that the man had exposed himself and was touching himself indecently.”

The three girls then moved away and took their seats in another carriage.

DC Parkinson said: “Our enquiries indicate that the man may have links to the Chislehurst and East London areas.

“This was a frightening and intimidating experience for the girls involved and this sort of behaviour is completely unacceptable.

“If you have any information about the incident or recognise the man pictured in the CCTV images then I would like to hear from you.”
