CHRONIC Fatigue Syndrome sufferer Cathy Hannon is hosting a coffee morning, cake sale and raffle to raise cash for research into the condition.
Also known as ME, there is currently no known cure for the neurological disorder which results in complete exhaustion, hyper-sensitivity to everyday experiences such as light, sound and food and extreme pain.
Mrs Hannon, 46, developed the condition nine years ago, triggered she believes by a viral infection followed by the stress of four family bereavements.
As a result, she was eventually forced to give up her bank job in the City.
One of her children also developed the condition, which is believed to have some genetic links, four years ago at the age of nine, following a series of infections.
The sale will take place at her home at 36 Orchard Rise West, Blackfen, on Saturday (14)from noon until 2pm.
All the money raised will go to the Association of Young People with ME.
