BROMLEY and Chislehurst MP Bob Neill has said councils should use reserves to avoid budget cuts, after Bromley Council refused to use its £51.9m reserves to save services.
The council refused to use its reserves to avoid some of the £33m worth of cuts it approved in February, despite protesters calling for the £51.9m pot to be used to save services.
Conservative Mr Neill has publicly declared all councils should use their reserves, and when asked by News Shopper, he said this includes the Tory Bromley Council.
He said: “I have always said all councils should use the money in their reserves.”
