THE parents of a severely disabled 17-month-old boy are appealing for donations so he can have potentially life-changing treatment.
Sasha Georgiev has dystonic cerebral palsy, meaning he cannot crawl, walk, talk or use his arms and legs, but this could be changed by stem cell therapy to repair and replace damaged or dead cells.
However, it is not available on the NHS, so Sasha’s parents Kate and Martin are hoping to raise £9,000 to take him to Germany for the treatment.
Mrs Georgiev, aged 27, of Glanville Road in Bromley, said: “This process could aid Sasha's brain development and therefore reduce the effects of his brain injury.
“If there is any improvement to Sasha's quality of life, this cost of the procedure will have been worthwhile.”
