A BEXLEY company has scooped another environmental award for its simple but effective way to cut energy costs.
Savex ESL based in Old Forge Way, Sidcup, won the Green Award at the 2010 Energy Excellence awards held at London’s Langham Hotel.
The company was rewarded for its cover plate solution which upgrades old fluorescent lights in industrial and commercial buildings to produce energy savings of up to 55 per cent, reducing carbon dioxide emissions and paying back the cost of the upgrade in around 15 months.
The judges were particularly impressed with the simplicity of the installation of the cover plate and its quick cost payback.
The company has already won recognition from the Carbon Trust as one of its approved suppliers and in 2007 won an environmental technology innovation award.
