THE UK’s largest motorsport organisation has launched its first ever nationwide young motorsport journalist of the year competition to uncover the next generation of sport writing talent.

MotorSport Vision (MSV) is inviting schoolchildren aged from 11 to 17 to demonstrate their skills by writing a 300 word race report based on a video selected by MSV, which can be viewed at the competition website motorsportvision.co.uk/youngjourno

The competition will be split into two age categories: 11 to 13 and 14 to 17.

Three entries will be selected from each age group by a panel of MSV staff when the contest closes on December 31.

Each winner will be awarded a YoungDrive! introductory driving lesson in a BMW 1 Series at either Brands Hatch, Oulton Park in Cheshire or Bedford Autodrome circuit.

They will also see their work published, as their reviews of the experience will be included in a 2011 programme at one of MSV’s largest race meetings.

In addition, each report will be published on the MotorSport Vision website and issued as a press release.

Full information, race videos and entry forms for the MSV Young Motorsport Journalist of the Year contest can be found through the competition website, www.motorsportvision..co.uk/youngjourno

Teachers can also download and print off posters from the website to advertise the competition around their schools.
