TWO teenagers who outraged the public by stealing bronze name plaques from Bexleyheath’s war memorial have been sentenced by a youth court.
The youths, both 17 at the time of the theft, from New Cross and Deptford, had pleaded guilty to stealing three bronze plaques from the memorial in Oaklands road on November 2.
One, now aged 18, was ordered to do 100 hours of unpaid work and given a rehabilitation order for 12 months.
He was also subject to a two-month curfew between 9pm and 6am.
The second youth was also given a 12-month rehabilitation order and a two-month curfew order between 9pm and 7am.
