POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a 17-year-old boy was stabbed in Catford.

Officers were called on December 6 at 11.13pm to reports of a stabbing at a bus stop on Torridon Road.

The victim was stabbed in the chest and was taken to a south London hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

He had been waiting with his girlfriend at the bus stop near the junction with Arngask Road when he was approached by three males who attacked him with a metal pole and stabbed him.

They stole his push bike, removed the seat and began hitting the victim with the bike seat.

The victim managed to escape and ran to Fordel Road where his girlfriend called for an ambulance.

Two 16-year-old boys and a 24-year-old man have been arrested for attempted murder and bailed to return to a south London police station in February.

A boy, aged 16, and a 20-year-old man were arrested for GBH and bailed to return in February.
