NINE months after 1,500 runners laced up their shoes and pulled on their shorts for the Bromley Mile their final fundraising total has been revealed.

Together they raised £36,475.88 by being sponsored to do one, three or six miles for Sport Relief in Norman Park, Bromley, on March 21.

Every penny of this money will be spent by Comic Relief to help disadvantaged people both at home and abroad.

An event spokesman said: “It is now time to say a massive thank you to the team who helped put the event together including the more than 50 volunteers, Primetime buddies and Bromley Mytime staff and in particular the Partnerships team.

“This was a big team effort and everyone should be congratulated.”

They added: “Sport Relief would like to pass on their heartfelt thanks to every single person that helped organise The Bromley Mile as your incredible hard work, support and enthusiasm is already helping to change lives.”

Plans are already underway for the 3rd annual Bromley Fun Run which will be held on April 10 next year in Norman Park.
