A CIVIL servant is training to spin-cycle for 12 hours on the day he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease six years ago.
Danny Lavender, 47, will undertake the challenge on December 23 at the Walnuts Leisure Centre, Orpington, to raise awareness of the degenerative disease.
He was inspired to do the challenge by fellow sufferer Alex Flynn, 38, who is racing 10 million metres to raise £1m for the Cure Parkinson’s Trust.
Mr Lavender, from Orpington, said: “The 23rd will be a poignant day for me.
“I have always been a positive type of person and I’m doing the challenge to raise greater awareness.”
