PET detectives are on the hunt for a missing cat after being called in by the pussy’s distraught owner.

Christina Hall has hired Animal Search UK to find her six-year-old cat George after he went missing from her home in Ravenscroft Road, Beckenham, on October 8.

She called in the pet detective agency two weeks ago, and two investigators have travelled to Beckenham in a patrol car to carry out door-to-door inquiries and search sheds and garages.

Posters of George have been put up in the area and on the agency’s website, and the investigators also spoke to Miss Hall to find out about the cat’s habits to help their hunt.

Founder of the agency Tom Watkins said: “Work and family commitments often mean owners don’t have as much time as they’d like to devote to scouring the area looking for their missing pet.”

The former PC in West Midlands Police added: “Animal Search UK’s promise is that we will do all we can and leave no stone unturned in the search for George.”

Social worker Miss Hall, aged 37, took in George and his brother Oscar when they were kittens after a friend found them in her garden.

She said: “I’m missing George hugely, and Oscar is missing him a lot too. Oscar sits in the garden and cries. I just hope we find George before Christmas.”

Animal Search UK, which was established in 1999 and is based in Hertfordshire, charges from £250 upwards to search for pets.
