SOCIAL care being offered to vulnerable adults in Bexley has been judged of good quality.

Independent regulator the Care Quality Commission, looked at seven different elements of care being provided by Bexley Council and graded them between one and four.

The lowest grade was poor and the highest excellent.

On six of the seven elements, which include things such as improved quality of life and maintaining personal dignity and respect, Bexley’s services were judged to be “performing well” the second highest grade.

This is an improvement on last year when dignity and respect was rated only “adequate”.

On the one remaining element, economic wellbeing, Bexley was given a top rating of “excellent”.

More people in Bexley now have their own personal budgets from the council to buy their own choice of care, than any other London borough.
