POLICE and security presence has been stepped up in Lewisham in the run up to Christmas.
A dedicated number of officers will be on duty providing high visibility patrols from 12pm to 6pm every day.
Officers will be working with Safer Transport Teams and the British Transport Police to target individuals who travel into the borough to commit crime.
The Safer Lewisham Partnership bus will be situated in the town centre providing crime prevention advice to the community.
Police Sergeant Matt McGrath of Lewisham Town Centre team said: "We are dedicated to making Lewisham town centre an even safer place to work and visit.
“We aim provide people with the information to ensure they do not become victims of crime.”
