BECKENHAM: Driver alerted to car fire
A PASSER-BY flagged down a motorist in Beckenham to tell him his car was on fire last night (December 7).
The driver was travelling along Croydon Road when he was alerted to the flames coming from the under the bonnet of his Ford Explorer at around 6.20pm.
He managed to get out before someone threw a bucket of water over the vehicle to put out the fire and called 999.
Firefighters arrived to make sure the flames were out and were at the scene for around 10 minutes.
