A BURGLAR who tried to escape capture by jumping from a third floor window, has been jailed for 15 months.
Gary Harman, aged 36, unemployed of Cannon Place, Charlton, spent 12 days in hospital after injuring both his ankles and cutting open his head in the jump.
He pleaded guilty to burglary at Woolwich Crown Court.
Police had been called in the early hours of March 26 to a flat in Belvedere, after reports of someone breaking in.
The lights were on but the 4 -year-old woman occupant failed to anwer the door.
When officers broke in she was not at home, but the flat had been ransacked.
After being alerted by a member of the public, Harman was found injured on the pavement outside in possession of a screwdriver, two mobile phones a new SIM card and an internet dongle which had been stolen from the flat.
