A COMPUTER repair store owner has described how he caught a paedophile who was looking at child porn in the shop’s internet cafe.
Daryl Mory discovered boys football referee Gary Badgett had been visiting child porn websites on a computer in his shop, PC Repair Store in Chatterton Road, Bromley.
Mr Mory told the police and they searched the home of 66-year-old Badgett in Heron Court, Bromley, finding numerous indecent images of young boys.
Badgett was given a six month suspended prison sentence on November 26 after being found guilty of six counts of making indecent images of children and one charge of possessing 74 indecent images of children.
Describing how he caught Badgett on November 18, 2008, Mr Mory said: “He had been coming here for around a year and he would always sit at the computer that’s in the corner and has a wall behind it.
“One day a customer was coming in as Badgett was leaving and the customer said ‘paedo’ to him.
“This made me suspicious, so when everyone had gone home I checked the computer he had been using and found he had been visting child porn websites.”
Mr Mory, aged 40, added: “The stuff he had been looking at made me feel sick. I have two little boys, but even if you’re not a parent it would make you feel sick.”
He added: “I’m glad he has been caught - God knows how long he has been getting away with it - but I’m annoyed he has not been sent to prison.”
