SUPERMARKET shoppers had help packing their bags from a princess, a fairy and a man in drag when panto stars raised money for a college.
The cast of Sleeping Beauty, this year’s pantomime at the Assembly Rooms in Coney Hall, joined staff at the Sainsbury’s in West Wickham High Street to pack bags at the checkout.
They raised £432 in donations for Nash College in Croydon Road, West Wickham, which specialises in teaching students aged 18 to 25 who have learning disabilities. Debbie Coldspring, PR ambassador for the Sainsbury’s store, said: “Sainsbury’s is delighted to have chosen Nash College as our charity of the year.
“Colleagues and I visited the college last week and are excited at the prospect of raising money towards a new multi sensory room for the students.”
