CELEBRITY chef Jamie Oliver could have had a problem if he had decided to visit Shortlands on Saturday afternoon (December 4).
In his latest advert for supermarket chain Sainsbury’s he is seen travelling the country in a lorry and serving up Christmas dishes to the masses.
But a Sainsbury’s lorry going through the area at around 1pm was not so welcome as it got stuck trying to get under the bridge outside Shortlands train station.
There was disruption to road traffic and train services for several hours because of the 13.5ft lorry trying to get under the bridge which has a height restriction of 12ft.
The lorry was eventually removed using specialist lifting equipment and the bridge was found to have suffered no structural damage.
