A similar operation in the summer led to 366 arrests
POLICE have launched an operation to crackdown on burglaries in Lewisham.
Operation Sark is being run in the lead-up to Christmas with increased patrols and more searches of cars travelling through the borough.
Detective Superintendent Si Cunneen said: "With the increased number of officers patrolling across the borough we aim to identify, locate and arrest those perpetrators who are responsible for the break-ins that are occurring.
"I would like to appeal for support from the community to be vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour."
A similar six-week initiative in the summer led to 366 arrests.
