A BAG of life-saving equipment was callously swiped from an ambulance while paramedics treated an elderly woman who had fallen over.
Ambulance staff were at the scene of the incident in Somerfield Road, Lee, on November 17 from 4pm to 4.30pm when the theft happened.
Staff were about to take the woman to hospital when they noticed the green paramedic bag containing a large amount of medication had been stolen.
Ambulance operations manager for Greenwich Victoria Graham said: “It’s shocking that someone would steal from an ambulance while its crew were busy treating a patient.
“Paramedic bags contain vital emergency equipment that can be essential in a moment of life and death.“
Anyone with information should call police on 0208 284 8364 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
