Bexley RSPB has organised a coach trip to Holkham, Norfolk, on November 28 to see large numbers of pink-footed geese, as well as snow buntings, shorelark and goldcrest, leaving from the Central library, Townley Road, Bexleyheath, at 7.15am and returning at 7.15pm. Thames21’s Bexley Riverkeepers have been busy on the River Cray this week as part of their programme of clean-ups and river enhancement work. There is still a chance to join them tomorrow (25th) at Foots Cray Meadows, Leafield Lane off North Cray Road, North Cray at 10am. Just turn up wearing suitable clothes and all equipment will be provided.

Green Party London Assembly member Jenny Green claims cuts in Transport for London’s (TfL)budget over the next three years will mean less cash for cycling projects in the capital. TfLhas already promised to maintain its spending on road maintenance, bridge strenghtening and major road schems.
With starling numbers in the capital falling, the RSPB London is asking people to be on the look out for murmurations - the swooping clouds of thousands of the birds in flight. Anyone who spots a murmuration within the M25 is asked to post details and any photographs on the London group’s Facebook site.
