HOW to pamper your garden visitors was the theme of this year’s Feed the Birds Day at Hall Place in Bourne Road, Bexley.
This is the eighth year Bexley Heritage Trust has worked with the local RSPB group to host the event in its historic gardens.
Telescopes were trained on bird feeders hung from the trees on the banks of the River Cray, so members of the public could watch the birds feeding.
There were also free leaflets providing tips on providing bird baths and other creature comforts.
As winter approaches now is the time to start putting out food for the birds to build them up for the cold weather to come.
The RSPB recommends calorie rich food such as mixed seeds and peanuts, as well as kitchen scraps like creeal or oats, grated unsalted mild cheese and leftover cooked rice and pasta.
