Bexley RSPB holds its annual autumn fair on Saturday (November 6) at Freemantle Hall, in Bexley Village High Street, from 10am to 1pm, featuring Christmas cards, calendars, gifts, plants, bird feeding supplies, cakes and preserves and craft stalls, Admission 30p, children free.

Friends of Foots Cray Meadows is looking for volunteers to help plant wildflower seeds around the meadows' newly created ponds on Saturday (November 6). Meet at the new ponds in the meadows off Rectory Lane, Foots Cray, at 10am.

The community conservation project Embrace the Wild! funded by the Big Lottery, is running a fungi foray in Lesnes Abbey Woods on November 13, led by a fungi expert .They will be looking for fungi in the woodland and hoping to beat the 70 species found last year. Work has begun to create London’s largest cycle hire docking station close to the main entrance to Waterloo railway station. When complete it will hold 124 bikes.The bike hire scheme now has 100,000 members, with 20,000 bike journeys every week.
