COMMUNITY heroes were honoured at an awards ceremony to celebrate the best of Beckenham.
Beckenham’s Night of Honour, an awards ceremony organised by Citygate Church, rewards organisations and individuals which strive to improve the town.
Around 50,000 nomination forms were distributed throughout the town, for categories including Best Sports Star, Best Community Project and Best Community Project.
The ceremony at the church in Rectory Road featured live music and dance, and winners included J’Amies Gymnastic Academy receiving the award for Best Investor In Children.
Julian Melfi, director of the awards, said "This event acknowledges and rewards the people of Beckenham who go out of their way to make our community such a great place.”
