YOUNGSTERS at a primary school grew and cooked their own vegetables to serve some tasty treats to their parents and teachers.
Children at The Highway Primary School in Orpington harvested the crops from the garden and used them to make vegetable soup, pumpkin and potato curry and a giant fruit crumble.
They then served the healthy and delicious treats to fellow pupils, teachers and their parents - around 350 people in total - to celebrate Harvest Festival.
A spokeswoman for the school in The Highway said: “The year six children had been busy preparing for the event for a couple of weeks.
“They harvested all the crops grown in the school garden over the summer, and they planned what they could make utilising the ingredients they had and then they cooked them.”
