A BOLLYWOOD film fan was arrested at Bexleyheath’s Cineworld cinema for trying to illegally record the latest Indian film release.

Employees at the town centre multiplex spotted the 37-year-old man using his mobile phone to record the film on October 8 and called the police.

He had filmed the first 28 minutes of the Bollywood blockbuster before he was challenged by staff.

The man was then arrested by Bexley police for infringing copyright laws.

Arresting officer PC John Horton said “ It is a criminal offence to illegally use equipment such as a camcorder or mobile phone during public performances to record films directly from cinema screens. “Cinemas across the UK are disrupting illegal recording activity on a regular basis and employees areencouraged to make regular checks in auditoriums for such activity.
