A DECISION has been deferred on controversial plans to build 39 new houses in Beckenham.
Bromley Council’s planning committee has delayed making a decision on developer Castlefort Properties Ltd’s application for land at the rear of 91 to 117 Copers Cope Road.
This is so councillors on the committee can visit the site to inspect whether the development would be appropriate, after people living nearby wrote to the council to oppose the application.
A report by a council planning officer says residents’ objections include concerns there will be “insufficient parking spaces” and that the proposed footpaths will be “dangerously narrow”.
The committee is expected to make a decision on the application later this month (November).
