AN INDIAN restaurant is hoping to be judged best in balti and top in tandoori after being shortlisted for a national award.
Shampan 2 in Chatterton Road, Bromley, has been named on the shortlist of 99 restaurants for the so-called ‘Curry Oscars’, the 2010 British Curry Awards.
Regional winners and an overall champion will be named at an awards ceremony hosted by TV presenter Justin Lee Collins at Grosvenor House Hotel in Park Lane, London, on November 21.
Around 3,500 restaurants received nominations for the awards, with more than 67,000 members of the public voting for their favourite curry house.
Mr Collins said: “Curries are such an important part of life in this country, so it’s great the public has had an opportunity to help celebrate their favourite restaurants.”
