A YOUTH club leader who helped combat disruptive behaviour is searching for more volunteers.

Joanne Raff, 40, took over Higham Youth Club in September 2007 and now also runs a youth club in Cobham.

She works closely with Kent police, who recently awarded her with an Area Commander’s award in recognition of her hard work and dedication.

Chief Inspector Philip Painter, who is responsible for neighbourhood policing across Dartford and Gravesend, said: “Joanne’s work has had a huge effect on neighbourhood policing in Higham and Cobham.

“She’s giving youngsters something to do so that they don’t get up to no good out of boredom.”

To find out about volunteering with the clubs, you can Joanne on 07982 258015 or email her at highamyouthclub@blueyonder.co.uk.
