AN internet auction is being held allowing the highest bidder to start Blackheath’s annual fireworks display.
Lewisham Council needs to find £35,000 for the Blackheath fireworks after Greenwich Council pulled its funding.
Now people can bid on the eBay website for the chance to start the firework display themselves on November 6.
The package also includes VIP access for up to 10 people, a private tour, parking provision, meal and drinks vouchers.
Bidding starts at 7pm on October 21 with a starting price of 99p and will continue until 7pm on October 31.
So far £11,000 has been raised since the appeal launched. To donate by card call 020 8314 3007.
