I think it's time for a prediction and a good one at that. Sorry folks, but England is going to lose against Slovenia. I predict the score will be: Slovenia 1, England 0.

Obviously, I am writing this before the game takes place, otherwise it wouldn't be a prediction, would it?

Whatever the final result, we all know in our heart of hearts that England will be coming home minus the World Cup. We also know that Fabs will resign before he is fired and we will be left with the likes of Rooney and Terry to put the blame at his feet. It's a shame they can't put the ball at their feet and score some goals but that really would be too much to expect from our current players.

I really hope I am wrong in my prediction and will celebrate along with everyone else if England pulls through and carries on to the knockouts. Though in reality, we all know that isn't going to happen, don't we?

It will be with no joy that I watch my neighbour take down his flag and slink back to his armchair in despondency. In fact, the sight of him chucking the St. George's Cross onto his bonfire might even bring a tear to my eye - especially when the smoke infiltrates through my open window.

Still, there's always next time. Next time. Next time. Next time ... Yep, it's always next time for England, ain't it?

PS: England supporters can always watch a bit of Wimbledon instead. Weather permitting, of course.
