THOUSANDS of people turned off the World Cup television coverage and headed to a bike and kite festival.
The annual two-day event on Blackheath was attended by around 25,000 people.
Now in its third year, the event featured a BMX track, performances by bike stunt artists and kite flying shows.
There were also vintage bikes from the 1800s, cycle experts offering information and advice and stalls selling arts and crafts, bikes, kites and food.
Youngsters could learn tricks to help them perform their own bike stunts and can get involved with kite-making workshops.
