A DANCE duo were left disappointed after missing out on a cash prize of £100,000 on Britain's Got Talent.

Ashley Glazebrook and Glen Murphy, both aged 19, entered the TV talent competition with their dance act, Twist and Pulse.

The best friends, who grew up in Thamesmead and Forest Hill, describe their routines as “street-omedy”, combining street dancing with comedy.

The competition sees contestants showcase their talents for a cash prize and the chance to perform for the Queen at the Royal Variety Performance.

Twist and Pulse was first to perform in the show’s final, which included nine other acts.

The duo performed to a combination of songs including the Cheeky Girls, reggae, pop and the cartoon Scooby Doo.

After their performance, judge Simon Cowell, said: “What’s really important about you two is you’re incredibly current.

“Young kids are totally going to relate to you. They’re going to look up to you. They’re going to copy you.

“I can see you making a fortune in commercials and videos. I’m really impressed with you guys.”

Ashley, known as Twist and Glen, known as Pulse, met two years ago at the BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology, Croydon.

Ashley is in his final year at the school and works part time in B&Q as well as teaching children street dance.

Glen, who previously attended Forest Hill Boys School in Dacres Road, Forest Hill, works as a professional dancer and choreographer, teaching in various schools.

The pair were beaten to first place by Spellbound, a gymnastic group made up of 13 acrobats aged 12 to 24.

Reacting to the result Glen said: “It’s amazing. I can’t believe it. Thank you to everyone who voted us second.”
