A COUNCIL has joined a campaign to help clean up the streets of London.

Residents and organisations are being invited to get involved with the Capital Clean-Up Campaign, which starts on May 12 and runs until June 23.

The aim is to recruit half a million Londoners to help clean up the city's streets, parks and waterways.

Lewisham Council has organised a number of clean-ups around the borough, which includes cleaning pathways, removing overgrown vegetation, graffiti and fly-posting.

People can help on May 13 from 10am until 2pm behind Catford Station on Adenmore Road and Catford Road opposite to the Wickes store.

Clothing and equipment will be provided as well as full training and supervision.
