ANIMAL lovers are being urged to raise ‘pounds for pets’ to help an animal charity continue with its work.
PDSA vets in Amersham Vale, New Cross, provides free veterinary care for the pets of people in need.
Pet owners must receive housing benefit or council tax benefit and live in New Cross to use the service.
PDSA senior veterinary surgeon, Sean Wensley, said: “We rely entirely on public support to care for sick and injured pets in and around the area.
“With more pet owners now needing our help, we are appealing for people to get involved and raise pounds for pets”.
The New Cross vets has around 7,500 animals on its books and costs around £810,000 a year to run.
