POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a 36-year-old woman was sexually assaulted in a park.
Officers have released an e-fit image of a man they want to speak to in connection with the assault, which took place in Beckenham Place Park on April 11.
The woman was jogging in the park at around 6pm when she saw a man sitting on a bench.
As she jogged past he got up and followed her for a short while before sexually assaulting her.
The suspect is described as being a white man in his early 20s, of medium build and around 5ft 6ins tall.
He has short dark hair and was wearing a grey or white top and dark trousers.
Officers from the Met’s Sapphire unit are urging women who use the park to be vigilant and report anything suspicious to police.
Anyone with information should call Lewisham police on 020 8284 8300 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
