TWENTY runners have helped a hospice raise more than £16,000.
The money was raised for Greenwich and Bexley Cottage Hospice at this year’s London Marathon.
Those taking part included Deirdre Peters, an Abbey Wood nurse, whose own mother was looked after by the hospice during the last years of her life.
Catherine Collins, aged 30, of Hither Green also ran for the charity in memory of her mother, raising £9,462.
Hospice chief executive Kate Heaps said: “The money they raised will help to provide specialist care and support to over 1,000 people with life-limiting illnesses a year, as well as their families and carers."
