WHILE the rest of the country goes to the polls on Thursday, primary school pupils will be voting in their own mini-election.
Students at Crockenhill Primary School in The Green will vote for their own pupil prime minister, choosing from candidates from eight parties, including the Fun Fantastic party.
In the run up to the election each candidate has addressed a school assembly to explain their policies, aided by video and computer presentations. Headteacher Sue Norwell said: “While there has been a lot of fun in the project, it has a serious side.
“The pupils have become involved in joint decision and policy-making and have developed their presentational skills.”
