MOURNERS brought a road to a standstill while paying their respects to a murdered mechanic. Arout 1,500 people turned out for the funeral of Jon Bartlett, 29, of Portland Road, Mottingham.
He was shot dead on Chislehurst Common on March 31.
Police had to close Wickham Street, Welling, while friends and family made their way from the funeral at St Mary the Virgin Church to the nearby Hillview Cemetery.
Jon's brother Jamie, 23, of Goldcrest Road, Thamesmead, has paid tribute to his brother.
He said: "He was my life. He wasn't just my brother, he was my best mate.
"He was such a good man and for him to go like that, it's not acceptable.
"There were a lot of people there because a lot of people loved him."
Although three men have been arrested and bailed in connection with the investigation into Mr Bartlett's death, police are still appealing for help.
