A HUSBAND who admitted attacking his wife at a train station has been locked up.

Middlesex Guildhall Crown Court heard on May 24 how Harry Hazelby pulled his wife Jackie around and shouted at her at St Mary Cray station.

Fellow travellers watched in horror as the 20-year-old, who was high on cocaine and booze at the time, humiliated his wife.

Judge Henry Blacksell said: "It wasn't just an out of control assault by a man who lost his temper or felt jealous, there was the humiliation aspect.

"It was sustained and you laid in wait for her."

Gary Rutter, mitigating, told the court Hazelby was genuinely remorseful.

Judge Blacksell sentenced him to nine months in a young offenders' institute.

The judge noted Hazelby had a previous conviction for violence against women.

Hazelby, of Orchard Road, Oxford, attacked his wife on October 13 last year.

He had pleaded guilty to inflicting actual bodily harm on his wife at a previous court appearance.
