A FORMER businessman says he will never drive a lorry again after overturning his vehicle while over the drink-drive limit.
Dartford magistrates banned David Lea from driving for a year on May 23.
Magistrates heard Lea was involved in an accident in Green Street Green Road, Dartford, at 6.40am on December 8 last year.
Prosecutor Nicholas Markendale said the lorry Lea was driving mounted the kerb and turned over.
The 61-year-old, of Owenite Street, Abbey Wood, pleaded guilty to driving while over the limit.
Lea gave a urine test reading of 146, the limit being 107.
He told the court he had to close down his lorry driving business after the accident.
Lea said: "My lifestyle ended the day of the accident and I do not have any intention of ever driving a lorry again."
He added: "I am familiar with the bend in that road but it caught me out.
"I had some drinks the night before and I considered a night's sleep would be OK."
He claimed he had not hit the kerb and the vehicle had overturned due to the load in the lorry shifting.
Lea was also fined £250 and ordered to pay costs of £43.
