SUMMER will be brighter for shopkeepers and residents after a teenage gang member was given a two-year anti-social behaviour order (Asbo).

FTS Crew member Jake Dunmall, aged 16, terrorised traders and residents living in the Burnt Ash Lane area of Bromley for more than a year.

He also waged a 14-month campaign of hatred, threats, violence and intimidation against a family in the borough.

Under the conditions of the Asbo, which was made at Bromley Magistrates' Court on May 26, Dunmall, of Milk Street, Sundridge, must not use threatening, foul or abusive words or behaviour intending to cause harassment, alarm or distress to anyone living in Bromley.

He must not enter Ridgeway Close or Pike Close in Bromley or enter the area surrounded by Masons Hill, Hayes Lane, Hayes Road and Westmoreland Road, all in the Bromley area of the borough.

Dunmall is also banned from entering shops in Burnt Ash Lane, namely PC Hospital, The Fish Bar, The Olive Branch, Cape Clementine, Martins Newsagents, The Off Licence at 111 Burnt Ash Lane and The Teasel Pub.

He must also not remain in any shop, school or commercial premises if asked to leave by staff or be in a group of three or more people whose presence and behaviour is likely to harass, alarm or distress anyone.

Dunmall must also not associate with certain named people in any public place.

And Dunmall must not contact certain other named individuals.

If he breaches the Asbo he could be imprisoned for up to five years.

Bromley police central sector Chief Inspector Nick Stratford said: "The granting of this order is welcome to control the criminal and anti-social behaviour of this young person.

"I hope the associated publicity surrounding this case will send out a clear message to the minority of people who affect the lives of others through anti-social behaviour they will not be allowed to get away with it."

Anyone seeing Dunmall breaching his Asbo should call police 01689 891212 or Bromley Council's anti-social behaviour unit on 020 8461 7907.
