AROUND 20 more jobs are set to go at Lewisham Hospital, as it continues to re-shape its workforce.
Hospital bosses have announced the cuts following the second stage of its Workforce Review Consultation Proposal.
Last year the hospital, which is about £7m in debt, cut 21 jobs after the first phase of the review.
The hospital says the cuts are needed for it to be able to wipe out its deficit and break even by the end of the year.
A spokesman said: "As a public organisation we have a duty to the public to break even financially.
"Our ability to continue to provide a high quality of service is reliant on our ability to do this."
The hospital is consulting workers' unions but the cuts are unlikely to hit frontline workers such as doctors or nurses, but will mainly hit administration staff.
