A BARMAN who was knocked unconscious and beaten by a gang of youths is appealing for help in tracking down his attackers.

Sean MacLeod, 20, was acting manager at the Blue Anchor in Bridgen Road, Bexley, and had locked up for the night and gone to bed on May 14.

He says at about 12.30am he heard a commotion outside and saw up to seven youths aged 16 to 20, causing a disturbance.

After calling police and asking them to be quiet he went outside to reason with them.

One of the youths headbutted him, knocking him unconscious and the others began stamping on his face.

A cabbie who drove around the corner and saw the attack scattered the youths and called police and an ambulance.

Mr MacLeod now has a cracked jawbone and stitches in his mouth and his lips. He has given up his job at the pub as a result of the attack.

Mr MacLeod is appealing for help in tracking down his attackers, who were stepping out into the road and stopping traffic, including a 132 bus and a white car which had to drive aound them.
