PROTECTING STAFF: Old Bexley and Sidcup MP Derek Conway is one of the main sponsors of a Parliamentary Bill designed to give better protection for emergency workers from assault. He said: "It defies belief anyone would attempt to harass someone giving emergency help but in this increasingly twisted society, it happens a lot."
HEALTHY HEARTS: Cardiology staff at Queen Mary's Hospital, Sidcup, will be taking part in Help a Heart week next week. There will displays and advice in reception at the Frognal Avenue hospital on high blood pressure, smoking, cholesterol, healthy eating and men's health.
MARSH HELP: London Mayor Ken Livingstone has offered the services of his biodiversity staff to help with the restoration of Cross Dyke 2 on Erith Marshes after reed beds and banks were destroyed and it was emptied of its wildlife, including water voles.
