ACTORS from Greenwich Playhouse helped raise money for a group of campaigners fighting to save their pub from demolition.

The Save the Hood Campaign is petitioning Greenwich Council against the demolition of the Lord Hood pub in Creek Road, Deptford.

Rock Investments, which owns the pub's freehold, wants to knock it down to make an access way for the recreation ground backing on to Bardsley Lane.

But the plans have not yet gone before the council.

The cast from the Arrows play, who had been using the pub for their rehearsals, raised £100 for the campaign after a friendly darts match with the pub's ladies' team.

The Arrows will run at Greenwich Playhouse, Greenwich High Road, Greenwich, at 7.30pm from June 6 to July 2. Tickets cost £11. Call 020 8858 9256.
